Lewis, James R. 86, of Dayton was born on January 24,1933. Passed away June 5, 2019. James retired from Coca-Cola Corporation & Duncan Enterprises. He was good at whatever he chose to do. A man with many talents. James was a master mechanic, professional race car driver, professional trap shooter with many trophies to show for all his hard work. He was also a CB operator known as (Blue-Boy 275 & Big Bad Wolf). He was a four time professional Golden Gloves Champion Boxer.
James was preceded in death by his two wives Claudia Lewis and Frieda Lewis; son Ronnie Nixon, daughter Michelle Lewis; parents Grady and Gennie Lewis; brothers Lewis Vaughn, Henry and Robert Lewis; sisters Mary Lewis, Ora Lee Webb and Mildred Lewis-Johnson.
He is survived by his children, daughters Sheila(William) Gage, Carla Lewis-Harris, Linda (Timothy) Doakes and Carol (Dana) Nixon. sons, Richard Stevens, Kevin Lewis, James Nixon, Gerald Lewis, Larry(Tonya) Lewis; Brothers Alvin Lewis, Grady (Helen) Lewis, Clarence (Joanne) Lewis, Joseph (Loretta) Lewis all of Dayton. A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relative and friends. Funeral service will be Friday June 14 at Greater Love Christian Church 2345 Lakeview Ave Dayton, Oh,45417, at 10am funeral 11am. Interment West Memory Gardens.
