Loyd Richards was born in November of 1937 in Dallas, Texas to Allean Griggs and Booker Richards. At a very early age, Loyd found that he was ahead of his time with hairstyling and moved to Dayton, Ohio. He Became a very well known hairstylist and Beauty Salon owner in the Dayton area; as well as, he trained many hairstylist. He loved nature, enjoyed fishing, gardening and was a self-taught carpenter. He also was a great cook and barbecued for many people, especially when there was a need and during spiritual projects. Loyd looked forward to spending quality time with his family and only son, Dexter. However, his greatest love was for Jehovah. He had a deep appreciation for spiritual things. He became a baptized Jehovah in 1963. He served many years helping interested ones and his spiritual brothers and sisters in the congregation .Loyd enjoyed going to unassigned territory and relating the many experiences that he gained from that aspect of the ministry.
Loyd fell asleep in death on Saturday, May 26, 2018. He is preceded in death by his father, Booker Richards, his mother, Allean Griggs-Williams and his sister, Rudy M. Arnold. Loyd leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Jerdie Richards; son, Dexter (Dawn) Richards; brothers, Eddie Williams, Keith E. Williams; sisters Patricia Williams, Pauline Williams, Dianne Williams and Marilyn D. Williams-Allen (Kenneth); brother-in-law, Jerry Kern; sister-in-law, Dorothy Puckett and Velma Jean (Jerry) Trotter; as well as a host of nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
