Annette Shields, a beloved wife, pastor, mother, grandmother, aunt, and cherished friend, peacefully passed away on December 15, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on April 5, 1953, where her life’s journey began—one rooted in faith, compassion, and an unwavering love for others. Later relocating to Dayton, Annette made it her home and continued to touch countless lives with her kindness and spiritual guidance.
Annette devoted her life to serving both her family and her faith. As a pastor, she was deeply committed to her church and took great joy in sharing the goodness of Jesus with everyone she encountered. Her faith was not only something she preached but something she lived daily—through acts of love, encouragement, and genuine care for others. Church was her passion, and ministry was her calling.
A loving wife, Annette stood as a pillar of strength and support for her family. She embraced her roles as a mother and grandmother with immense pride and joy, always putting the needs of her loved ones before her own. To her family, she was a source of wisdom, warmth, and unconditional love. To her extended family and friends, she was a guiding light whose presence brought comfort and reassurance.
Annette was known for her outgoing spirit and radiant personality. She had a remarkable ability to make those around her feel seen, welcomed, and uplifted. Her smile could brighten any room, and her laughter was contagious. She was truly loved by everyone who knew her, leaving a lasting impression on all whose lives she touched.
She is the cherished daughter of Father Melvin Morris Sr., and Mother Beatrice Boyd who instilled in her the values of faith, love, and compassion that she carried throughout her life.
Though Annette’s earthly journey has come to an end, her love, faith, and spirit will live on through the many lives she impacted and the family she leaves behind. Her legacy is one of devotion, service, and boundless love—a legacy that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
