Jones & Dimple (Talma) Keys), all of whom preceded her in death. She leaves behind, adopted brother, Bruce (Gwen) Alexander and sister-in-law, D. Marie Trigg.
United in marriage to the late William (Billy) Nobles of Fayetteville, TN, Bernice bore daughter Vanessa Jean Reed (deceased) who gave her a grandson, Charles, Fayetteville, NC and a granddaughter, Tanisha (deceased); six great grandchildren: Erick (deceased), Cierra (William) Anderson, Cydney, Jaden, Joseph and Jason Nobles; a great-great grandson (Liam Anderson); and son-in-law Steven Reed.
Her second marriage was to the late Leemon Baker, Sr.; from this union came one step-son, Leemon “Butch” Baker Jr., step-daughters, Diana, Barbara & Sharon, and grandson, Darnell.
Prior to retiring from GM Truck & Bus, Bernice bartended for the Barbarso, Ben’s, and the VFW Post 10453, where she also played softball with the VFW’s (Very Fine Women) team. She was also a member, and former officer, of the American Legion Post 328 Women’s Auxiliary.
Bernice was blessed with her special long-time companion, Joe “Chuck” Cooley; bonus daughters and grandchildren, LaSonya Mason (Scotland & J’one) and Kristen Ladd (Aliesia, Alivia, Alexia, & Andrew); in-laws: Alma, Linda, Larry, Vel and Sedrick; dear friends: Bonnie Florence, Leslie Robinson and DeeDee Waters; special niece Michelle Trigg; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends - too many to name, but always in her heart.
