HOWSE, Carl Stanley age 83 of Pulaski, TN passed away on June 11, 2020 peacefully in his sleep. Carl was born on May 30, 1937 in Pulaski, Tennessee to Roosevelt and Annie D. Howse. The Oldest of three sons, Carl loved music, football and the law. He attended Bridgeforth High School (Giles County High School ) where he played football and graduated in 1955. His first child was born in 1956, named Sabrina.
In January 1956, Carl entered the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War Era, as an aircraft mechanic and was honorably discharged in 1960. Carl returned to Cleveland, were he met his former wife Mamie Jane Sherman. They were married in 1962. Their union of 23 years produced three children Christopher, Talitha and Beverly Howse. In 1985, he moved to Dayton, Ohio and attended Sinclair Community College where he completed his Associates Degree, and became a paralegal. In 1993, he married Bernice Reese.
Carl worked in several positions for White Motor Company and Eastern Airlines. Carl was an entrepreneur that purchased and owned many properties. Carl was politically and civically involved in both Cleveland and Dayton. He was the Street Club president also a Boy Scout leader in which he enjoyed mentoring young men.
Carl belonged to several churches in Cleveland and in Dayton. His home church being Bethesda Temple.
In his spare time, Carl loved keeping in touch with his children and grandchildren through social media and phone calls, also he loved watching basketball games and eating pizza.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Joe Howse and spiritual brother Earl Owens, and his wife Bernice. He is survived by his children, Sabrina Ward-Ballard (Michael), Christopher Howse (Lisa), Talitha Howse, and Beverly Howse, His former wife Mamie Sherman. His grandchildren Robert Ward, Tawana Ward, Virginia Ward, Tierra Howse, Tiffanie Howse, Christian Howse, Shannon Howse, Lauren Bottoms, Chaz Bottoms and Destinee Howse. Great-grandchildren Za'nia Ward and Dallas Walton .
Graveside services 10:30 a.m. Monday June 29, 2020 at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W. Third St. Dayton, Ohio 45417. All flowers, donations and cards should sent to The Howse Family at 5247 Wilson Mills Rd. # 233, Richmond Heights, Ohio 44143.
