Cal Sidney Foster, Jr.

FOSTER, Mr. Cal Sidney, Jr., age 81, passed away August 8, 2024. Born June 30, 1943 in Auburn, Alabama to the late Cal Foster, Sr. and Florence Buckhannon, the youngest of their four children, Daniel, Frank and Ruthie, who also predeceased him. After high School Cal joined the Air Force where he served as a Clerk. Upon his honorable discharge he came to Dayton and was employed by GM Truck and Bus Division from where he retired. He loved fast cars, motorcycles, fishing and his favorite was cutting down trees. He has a special art when it came to cutting down trees and he trained many a young man in that art. Cal was a man that you either liked or disliked, he was a person to reckon with. He would give you the shirt off his back and would drive any person anywhere. Cal was also preceded in death by his son, Tyson Patrice and daughter, Twala R. Foster. He leaves to cherish is memory his devoted wife of 42 years, Delores Whitney Foster; son, Cal (Tosha) Foster, III; daughters, Culpatrice Foster and Kenyetta Giles; stepson, Christopher Whitney, Brodis Grisby; step daughters, Vernetta and Loretta Grisby; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Charles (Carla) Whitney; sister-in-law, Vera Richardson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin other family members and many friends. Memorial Service 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Dayton National Cemetery, 4100 West Third Street, Dayton, Ohio.
