Charles C. HOLT

Charles Cecil Holt Sr. was born to Earnest Holt Jr. and Louise Patterson at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, Tuesday, June 9, 1942. Exceeding the expectations of doctors, Charles took his final rest on Saturday, May 1, 2021. After graduating from Roosevelt High school, Charles began his professional career, working at General Motors for over 20 years. On March 30, 1963, he married the love of his life, Carol J. Holt. From this union, nine children were produced. Many things throughout Charles’ life brought him joy and pleasure, like skating and fishing. He took great pride in being a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle to all his “boobeans”. Charles was a dedicated member of Faith Temple P.C.O.G. Sunday after Sunday, he could be found sitting in the same seat on the left side of the sanctuary with his wife, enjoying the choir, the preached word, and especially the dance ministry of his granddaughters. Of all his accomplishments, being saved, sanctified, Holy Ghost filled, and fire baptized was paramount. Charles is preceded in death by his Mother, Louise Patterson; his Father, Ernest Holt Jr.; two children, one grandchild, one sister, and one brother. Left to cherish his memory; his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Carol J. Holt; 7 children, Charles C. (Pennie) Holt Jr., Alicia C. (Paul) Curry Jr., Terri L. Sampson, Regina Y. Holt-Brooks, Jason E. Holt, Kendra S. Holt, and Marcus C. Holt; 38 grandchildren, Charles Holt III, Areanna (Dorian) Sanders, Kristie Holt, Brandon (Tanetta) Holt, Rontae Greene, Jherrid Caldwell, Latasia Holt, Ju'Mahel Holt, Jalen Holt, Paul Curry III “Boss”, JeQuan Curry, Alexus Curry,  Aleah Curry, Alyssa Curry, Patrick Sampson Jr., Christian Sampson, Tiara (Devintae) Hubbard Sr., Taylor Sampson, Elijah Sampson, Tiyonna Sampson, Jawana Wood, Kyra (Andrew) Yantis, La’Sann Brooks, Hassan Brooks Jr., Isaiah Brooks, Jeremiah Brooks, Faith Brooks, Shade’ Brooks, Zoey Koen, Elias Holt, Jay’Shaun Allen, La’Shawn Freeman, Ke’Andra Freeman, Sariah Freeman, Brett Oglesby Jr., Damarcus Holt, Kennedy Holt,  and Samaya Blessin Holt; 36 great-grandchildren, Aiden Curry, Reign Dawson, Jaeden Turner, Reagan white, Kingston Holt, Zavier Holt, Dorian Sanders Jr., Cydnee Sanders, Davyn Sanders, Mario Lawhorn Jr., Mariah Lawhorn, Madison Lawhorn , Brandon Holt, Sirinity Holt, Savanna Holt, Peyton Holt, Amirrah Blanks, Bailey Harris, British Brasher, Karlee Greene, Azariah Caldwell, Lauren Alstork, Ju'Mahel Holt Jr., Aaris Holt, Devin Snine, Laila Sampson, Lauryn Sampson, Daylen Hubbard, Da’Marion Hubbard, Devintae Hubbard Jr., De’Air Hubbard, DaShaun Hubbard, Ta'miyah Sampson, Summer Greene, and Aubrey Greene. Additionally, he will be deeply missed by his brothers, Henry (Lillie) Holt, Clifford (Ruby) Holt, Darryl Holt and Ernest Holt; his sisters, Ernestine Martin, Rebecca (Danny) McGuire, Denise Holt and Teresa Holt; In-laws, Francis Walker, Louis (Artie) Butler, Linda (Walter) Bankston, Jimmy Butler, Charlie Butler, Carmen (Gregory) Irvin, Lorna (Clifford) Holt Jr., Johnny Butler and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
