Danielle Bolden Obituary

Danielle Rena Bolden; also, affectionately known as “Danny, Danny-D, Danny Deelishis, and Daniel (to honor her heart – transplant donor”), departed her earthly life and entered her place of rest in heaven on August 24, 2022.   She was born to Katina Banks-Austin and Morrell Bolden on November 9, 1992.  Born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, Danny attended Miami Chapel School, Belmont High School where she was a Varsity Cheerleader, and a State Track and Field Finalist, and then transferred to Dayton Business Technology High School which is where she graduated from focusing on business.  She also attended Carousel Beauty College, as she had a love for fashion, hair, nails, and makeup. As a teen, Danielle faced many medical challenges and developed heart disease.  In April 2008, the Lord blessed her with a total heart transplant, “a new heart.”  Most heart transplants last for 10 years.  Danny’s lasted for over 14 years!  Her heart condition brought along various medical challenges, but she was a fighter and always grateful to the Lord for blessing her with a new heart…She would often say, “I will live and not die.” During her hospital stays she would have the nurse print those exact words out and place it on her door.  She asked that the staff spoke life when entering her room.   She loved life and celebrated her biological birthday in November and her heart-transplant birthday, in April of each year! Danny grew up in Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church, where she was baptized at a very early age; sang in the Youth Choir, participated in Youth Group activities, and was a member of the Guild Girls.  She was employed at several Day Care Centers in the Dayton community; served as a Cheering Coach for the Belmont Pee Wee Football & Cheer Group and Dayton Dunbar Pee-Wee Wolverines.  In her younger days, she was a member of the Silver Express and Gem City Strutters Drill Teams. Danny was a kind and loving person but had a mean streak if you rubbed her the wrong way!  She was a sweet, expressive, and stylish young lady with a passion for singing.  She auditioned for American Idol for the State of Ohio and made it to the second round as her health did not permit her to go forward. She also expressed herself through her clothing she enjoyed dressing up and wearing different hairstyles with extravagant colors.  Her lovely smile would light up a room.  She was the life of a party and enjoyed life (singing, dancing, and entertaining others)!   She will be truly missed by all her family and friends. Danielle was preceded in death by her sister Asia Blanks; great-grandfather, John L. Blanks; grandparents Odell & Marie L.
