Gordon Lindsey Roebuck Sr., age 75, of Dayton, Ohio, transitioned peacefully on Thursday, April 10, 2025, in Macon Georgia. He was born on August 7, 1949, in Dayton to the late George Roebuck Sr. and Vivian Roebuck. Gordon attended Dayton Public Schools and was a dedicated U.S. Marine who honorably served his country during the Vietnam War. After his military service, he worked at General Motors for several years before launching his own successful home improvement business. Known for his vibrant personality, Gordon was loving, humorous, straightforward, and full of life. His magnetic presence lit up every room he entered. A legendary skater in the Dayton community, he also enjoyed riding motorcycles and had a passion for taking long road trips. He turned that passion into a Professional Truck Driver Trainer for England Trucking.
Above all, Gordon was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His love for his family was unwavering, and he deeply cherished every moment spent with those he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Sr. and Vivian Roebuck; his brother, George “Sonny” Roebuck Jr.; his sister, Donna Roebuck Brawner.:, 2 Grandchildren, Dai’shaugn Dale, and Shyanne Dale.
Gordon leaves behind a powerful legacy of strength, joy, laughter, and love. He is survived by his 7 beloved children: LaTosha Respress (Eric), Lavonya Rupert (Vernon Jr.), Gordon L. Roebuck Jr. (Michele), Brandy Guevara (Kevin), Ericka Niccole Rountree, LaQuisha Roebuck-Jackson, and Kenyatta Staten (Johnny).
He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and cherished memories shared with his loving sisters: Wealtha Yarbrough, Marla Domineck, Arnetta Diane Roebuck, and Beverly Williams, along with his bonus brother, Granville Walton Jr, and special friend Wendell Bell of Macon Georgia.
Gordon’s legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
His life was a true testimony to resilience, laughter, and the enduring power of family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, April 30th 12:00pm at Ethan Temple Church, 4000 Shiloh Springs Rd. Memorial Ceremony will be held at the Dayton VA National Cemetery at 2:00pm Sharp.
