James Gibson-Robinson Obituary

James Lance Robinson-Gibson, age 37, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025. He was born on March 2, 1988, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Steve Lance Robinson and Kimberly Maxine Gibson.

James was a talented and hardworking carpenter and handyman, known for his remarkable skill and dedication to his craft. Every project he took on was done with care and pride, reflecting both his creativity and commitment. His hands built more than just homes — they built memories, friendships, and a legacy of love and reliability that will not be forgotten.

Outside of work, James found his greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time near the water, fishing for hours and celebrating every big catch as though it were his first. He enjoyed music — especially rap — and his favorite song, “Boyz-n-the-Hood” by Eazy-E, was often the soundtrack to his happiest moments. Above all, he cherished time with his family and friends, whose laughter and companionship filled his life with meaning.

James will always be remembered for his warm heart, his authenticity, and his infectious laughter that could brighten even the darkest days. To know him was to experience genuine kindness, humor, and love.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Steve Lance Robinson and Kimberly Maxine Gibson; his grandfathers Harvey Gibson Sr. and James Robinson; and his grandmothers L. Maxine Gibson and Barb Robinson.

James leaves to cherish his memory his devoted brothers Anthony Robinson and Steven Gibson; his beloved children Jordan, Corduroy, and Rosie; his niece Keirsten Gibson; and his two nephews Brysten Gibson and Michael James Anthony Gibson.

He is also survived by his loving uncle Harvey Gibson Jr. (Lisa); loving aunt, Robin and James Profitt; loving aunt Deborah Gibson and partner Tom Mackzum; and loving aunt Camissa and Dwayne Coder. He will be fondly remembered by his cousins Jessica, Brandy, Jennifer, Brittany, Amanda, Matt, Dustin, and Danielle, as well as a host of extended family and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Though James’s time on earth was far too short, his impact was immeasurable. His life was a reflection of love, resilience, and the power of family bonds. The joy he brought to others will live on through the countless lives he touched, the laughter he inspired, and the love he left behind.
