BUCKNER, Kaleb Ian Chance, age 29 of Takoma, Maryland. Entered this world on July 29, 1990 and went peacefully to sleep on December 25,2019. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Robert & Lela Briggs and Russell Franklin.
Kaleb parents Jan Buckner and his father Tim Franklin were in a constant state of encouragement during Kalebs’ recovery even up until his last days.
Kaleb was known for his smile and his generous disposition. Kaleb was a warrior who fought from the time he came out of his mother's womb until his last days. He was an animal and nature lover, known for catching a wounded animal, training it and setting the animal free again. To know Kaleb was to love Kaleb. Kaleb attended Jefferson High School where he played on the basketball team. He was a point guard on the team and developed a passion for the sport. Kaleb was gravely stricken with a heart attack while playing basketball. He fought hard trying to get back to health but the burden was too devastating.
Kaleb’s mother Jan Buckner, was by his side day in and day out seeing to his needs. A lot of prayers and encouragement from his mom and from those who really participated in helping her and Kaleb get the best care possible.
Kaleb was very resourceful as he works at Kids Footlocker and at McDonalds to help in taking some of the financial burden that a single mother most times experiences. Again, Kaleb was a warrior, fighting for his life and even until his last breath, he fought for 13 years.
Kaleb leaves behind his mother Lela Jan Buckner, his father Tim Franklin, his brother Robert Buckner, his Aunt Linda, Aunt Joycy, Auntie Sue and Uncle Robert, Uncle Dana, Uncle Bobby Briggs and a host of other relatives. Private service entrusted to Pryor Funeral Home.
