KEITH BENARD COLTER, 61, of Pasadena, CA, heard the call of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 8, 2024. Keith was the middle son of three, of the late Carl Robert and Mary Isulia (Jones) Colter on November 10, 1962, in Dayton, OH. He was a native Daytonian and a 1981 graduate of Centerville High School. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandmother Amanda (Reed) Burel, and aunts Nita and Jessie Colter. He is survived by his brothers Carl Anthony Colter, Dayton, OH, and Stephen Glenn Colter, Provincetown, MA., aunts, Janice McDaniel, Jerry Letlow (Ernest), and Joyce Owens, and uncle, Larry Jones (Sandra), all of Dayton, OH and a host of cousins.
Keith was a lifelong learner. After high school, Keith graduated from California State University, Los Angeles, with his Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Technology and Business in 1992. He went on to graduate from Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business in 1997 with an MBA in Operations Management and Finance. In 2006 Keith received his Real Estate Investing Certification at UCLA. Keith completed an MA from Pacific Coast Banking School Management and Leadership in 2013. He graduated with honors.
Keith Colter worked to comprehensively analyze financial information to provide quality advice and solutions to his banking clients. He was passionate about what he did and took great pride in helping others and making a difference in people’s lives and businesses. Business acquisition financing, self-liquidating loans, long-term loans, and commercial real estate financing were his specialties, as well as properties, working capital loans, operating lines of credit, and asset-based lending. Keith was trained and skilled in credit analysis and entrepreneurship.
Keith dedicated his life to Christ at an early age and shared his love of the Lord with anyone with an open heart. He was a faithful member of Friendship Pasadena Church. Keith was also an avid world traveler who visited France, Spain, and Australia among others, and planned to visit many more countries. Keith was community-minded and served as an intern at the American Embassy, in Paris France, and volunteered at the Downtown Women's Center on Skid Row in Los Angeles, CA. Graveside services are Friday, May 3, 2024, at 3:00 p.m., at Woodland Cemetery & Arboretum in his hometown, Dayton, OH.
Keith was an optimist with a romantic heart who loved his family, friends, and especially his brothers. He will be deeply missed.
