Kimberly DeShawn Devoise, age 56, of Dayton, Ohio, formerly of Champaign, Illinois, entered into eternal rest on July 7, 2025, at Miami Valley Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on August 23, 1968, in Champaign, Illinois, Kimberly was the cherished daughter of Joyce McDuffy Walker-Smith. From an early age, Kimberly displayed a strong will, a kind heart, and a quiet determination that would guide her throughout her life. After relocating to Dayton, Ohio, she furthered her education and proudly earned a degree in Accounting from Sinclair Community College. Her passion and talent for her work led to a successful career, where she held various positions that showcased her intellect, diligence, and unwavering commitment to excellence.
Above all, Kimberly was a devoted and loving mother. She leaves behind her four beloved children—Talya Thompkins, Kylyn Devoise, Ya’Ron Devoise, and Yaheer Devoise—who were her greatest joy and proudest accomplishment. Her guidance, strength, and deep love will live on in them forever.
Kimberly also leaves to cherish her memory her devoted mother, Joyce McDuffy Walker-Smith, and her brother, Thomas McDuffy, both of Dayton, Ohio. She will be remembered fondly by a host of extended family members, dear friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Kimberly's warmth, quiet resilience, and steadfast love will be profoundly missed. Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we find comfort in the lasting impact of her life and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
