PERRY, Mr. Lamar, Sr., passed away Monday, March 21, 2022 at his residence. Lamar attended Schumacher Elementary School and graduated from John R. Buchtel High School in Akron, Ohio. He truly loved sports! He was a pillar at playing football and track/field. He also played Little League Baseball where he received many accolades. At a young age, Lamar accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior by baptism at Antioch Baptist Church, Akron, Ohio. His faith in Christ was honorable and commendable. After high school graduation in 1983, Lamar joined the United States Marines Corp and served active duty for four years. He was recognized as an “Honorable Veteran”. Lamar was self- employed and quite an entrepreneur. He was well-known for his carpentry and flooring skills. He often made the comment, “a woman loves a man that is good with his hands.” Lamar loved his family. He often travelled and spent as much time as he could with his family. He loved cooking and eating. Lamar had an extraordinary love for music. He played his harmonica so well as though he was performing at a musical concert. Lamar was loved by many. He made his transition to eternal life on March 21st, 2022. He leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Rashiem Devine Briggs (Raleigh, North Carolina), Lamar Perry Jr. (Decatur, Georgia), Robinson William Perry (Cincinnati, Ohio); daughter, Jessica Elaine Hanna (Atlanta, Georgia); sister, Lynette Williams (Glenn Heights, Texas); brother, Lance Perry (Monique Ortiz Perry) (Arlington, Texas); and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Memorial Service 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 4, 2022 at Pryor Funeral Home, 2520 Shiloh Spring Road, Trotwood, Ohio with Minister Willie Lovejoy, officiating.
