Larry James Vaughn was born to Lula Mae (Boone) and Ivan Vaughn on August 31, 1952 in Memphis, Tennessee. He departed this life on November 14, 2023 at Miami valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Larry moved to Dayton, Ohio at the age of 17 where he attended Roth High School and was trained as a carpenter’s helper where he learned to build and helping to build various buildings throughout the City of Dayton. Larry loved the Lord and the Word of God. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Later on becoming a minister of Grace Assembly Church of God in Christ. Larry married Faye, his first wife, in a beautiful union. Later on her married Mary and moved to Gastonia, North Carolina and continuing his ministry and working for Healthcore in Farming, Virginia. When he returned to the Dayton area to care for his father he became active in volunteering at the DVAMC and their farmer’s market. Beside his parents, Larry is preceded in death by aunt, Nita Vaughn and uncle Levan Vaughn. He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Larissa (Michael, Sr.) Owens; Two sisters, Marie (Eddie, Sr.) Jones and Latoya Steward; two grandchildren, Michael, Jr. and BreAnn Owens; one great grandchild, Anessa Mae Brown; five nieces, Kristina, Yvonne, LaShawnda, Amanda and Mykell; two nephews, Eddie, Jr. and Mykron; special friends, Anthony and Rosalyn; and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial services are pending.
