Paul Anthony Branch, Sr., age 64, of Columbus, Ohio, peacefully departed this life on Monday, August 18, 2025, at his residence. Born December 15, 1960, in Dayton, Ohio, he was the beloved son of the late Robert and Anna E. Branch.
Paul was a proud graduate of Wilbur Wright High School, Class of 1978. Following graduation, he honorably served his country as a veteran of the United States Navy, completing two overseas deployments with dedication and courage. A man of strong work ethic and determination, Paul later became proprietor of Branch Painting & Home Improvement, where he poured his skill, creativity, and heart into his craft.
He was preceded in death by his brother, David Elbert Branch; stepmother, Pacolia Branch; and the mother of his children, Carol Ransom.
Paul leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and faith. He is cherished in memory by his children: Paul Jr. and Ebony Branch, Dejuan Gordon-Branch, Kadaby (Camille) Ransom, and Carlon Ransom. He is also survived by his brother, Timothy (Ruby) Branch; sisters, Esther Faye (Alfred) Jones and Doris Yvonne Branch; sister-in-law, Tova Branch; stepbrother, Elbert Jefferson; and stepsister, Vickie Jefferson. His memory will also live on through his uncles, William (Patricia) Ming and John (Gladys) Branch; aunt, Mattie Branch; special cousins, Kenneth Ming and James (Tina) Goodnight; his many grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and dear friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
A Memorial Service honoring Paul’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 5370 Dayton Liberty Road, with Pastor Leroy Anthony officiating. The family will receive friends during the calling hour, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
