Rayfield "Castro" Knight, age 92, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend was called home on March 15, 2026, at Widows Home of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio. Rayfield was born on October 31,1933 to the late Mance Knight and Fannie Heard. Rayfield was employed as a shoe repairman in Downtown Dayton until he retired in the late 1990's.
Rayfield cherished his family deeply and loved spending quality time with them. He enjoyed cooking, reading his bible, working his word puzzles, and playing spades. He loved the lord and always had a word of knowledge to give to everyone he met. He was always asked to make his famous "dressing" for every occasion. All the family members wanted the recipe!!!
Rayfield had an infectious smile that would light up any room and a heart of gold. He loved everyone he came in contact with and made you feel like family every time you met him. He was a true man of character and leaves a legacy of love, kindness, and integrity that echoes in the lives he touched. He will be remembered for his strength, humility, and selfless services, a true pillar of strength and a guiding light. His memory will remain a treasure, and his impact will be felt long after his departure.
Rayfield leaves to cherish his precious memories, his sons, Dwayne, Donald (Susan); his daughters, Kathy, Aquetta, Michelle (Ron), Tonya, Sonya; Also, a bonus son: Emmanuel Wright. 26 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren. Close Friend of over 50 years, Brent Jett of Dayton, Ohio and also extended families, The Gudger, Ferguson, and Smith Family. A host of many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 63 years Nancy, son, Mark; sisters, Iola, Flora, Lola Mae; brothers, Fred, Mance; and his dear friend Morris Anderson. Rayfield will be dearly missed!
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at All Nations Bible Fellowship, 3805 Kings Highway, Dayton, Ohio 45406. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with the service to follow at 11:00 AM. Final Disposition: Cremation
