Richard Kevin Ballew SR.

Richard Kevin Ballew Sr. was born on July 22, 1956, to the late Anna Slaughter-Ballew and Mitchell Ballew.

Richard attended Roosevelt High School where he played all kinds of sports such as, football, basketball, baseball, golf and tennis. He also gained his name the "Dancing Bear" because he was such a great boxer.

On January 18*, 2025, Richard Kevin Ballews Sr. transitioned from this life at the age of 69. He was proceeded in death by his parents Anna Slaughter-Ballew and Mitchell Ballew, his late wife Sharon Ballew, sister's Charlotte Surles and Mary Jean. He is survived by one son, Richard Ballew Jr., four daughters, Tamika Ramsey, Ty'neka Ballew-Woods, Jasmane Jennings and Quantia McMahon. Eight sisters, Mary, Maxine, Angela, Charlotte, Hattie, Ronda, Mari Jean, Roberta, and Sylvia. One Brother, John Ballew. Eleven grandchildren, Ja'Cionna, Erick J, Donzell, Tristan, Shamar, Drahcir, Drecyauna, Keyvon, Richar, Dorian and Noah. Special Friend Dee Dee and special nephew Will Surles.

Richard attended Acts of Faith Church where he was in all the male choir groups, he was a talented musician, he played several instruments, the drums, guitar and piano.

He was a great father and friend, he was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
