Rodney Therron Rainey

Mr. Rodney t. Rainey, age 53, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 6, 2022. Born to P. D. Wheeler and Jay Walter DuBois on February 5, 1969 in Dayton, Ohio. Rodney attended Nettie Lee Roth Middle School, Meadowdale High School and earned a degree in office management from Southwestern College in 1988. Rodney was a devoted son, husband, father, brother and friend. For several years he worked as a Forklift Operator for Jamestown, Inc., until his retirement. He is preceded in death by his special grandmother, Lucille Thompson and Dora Dubois; grandfathers, Bobby Allen and James Thompson, Sr; father, Jay Walter DuBois; bonus dads, Michael Rainey and Wilbert Andrews; aunts, Rosemary Dubois and Taynal Dubois-Harris; uncles, Robert Thompson and Don DuBois. He leaves to cherish his memory devoted wife of 20 years, Renita; his children, DeShaun, D'Arco, James (Rodnisha), Christopher James (Miranda, M. Lanae, India ZaZa, Keyera, Chadell, Jakeya and Jalessa; bonus son, Darion. He also leaves to cherish his memory, mother, P. D. Wheeler; bonus dad, Daryle T. Wheeler; 2 brothers, Deshannon and Demetirc; bonus brother, Shawn Wheeler; 3 sisters, Antonetta, Jaminca and Tiffany (Charles); aunts, Marian, Robin, and Brenda; great aunts, Nancy, Sharon, Priscilla, Angela; uncles, David DuBois and Jimmie Thompson; 12 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and many friends, including special friends, Bryan Curry, Jeff Isreal, Sr., Todd Farris, Joe Geiger and Johnnie Williams. Funeral Services 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 17, 2022 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. S. N. Winston, Jr., officiating. Visitation one hour prior. Please wear masks for the services.
