Timothy Lynn Burnett

Timothy Lynn Burnett, beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away on January 9, 2026. He leaves behind a legacy of family, connection, and cherished memories that will live on through generations. A proud graduate of Roosevelt High School, Class of 1969, Timothy carried his accomplishments and life experiences with pride. He is survived by his loving daughters: Tyra Lynn Williams; Aleasa Gary of Dallas, Texas; Shutona Smith of Dayton, Ohio; and Joannett Burnett of San Antonio, Texas. He also leaves to cherish his memory seven grandchildren: grandsons Alahn Holland and Jaisean Burnett of San Antonio, Texas, and Jahmez Connelly of Columbus, Ohio; and granddaughters Alexis Williams; Arriel Askew of Durham, North Carolina; Ashley Williams; and Jasmine Burnett of San Antonio, Texas. He was also blessed with fourteen great grandchildren. Timothy is survived by his nieces Alisha (Williams) Taylor, Kimberly Williams, and Stacey (Smith) Hunt; and nephews Byron Edward Burnett, Eric Eugene Burnett, and Marvelous Cornell Burnett Jr., all of Mt. Vernon, Illinois along with Steven Smith. He also leaves a host of extended family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlotte (Babbs) Burnett and Harrison Burnett; his brother, Marvelous Cornell Burnett; and his sister, Emma Andrews (Louis Andrews). Timothy will be deeply missed and forever remembered. May his spirit live on through the love, memories, and lives he touched.
